February 4, 2012 - February
Newsletter Posted (Bob actually sent it to me Mid-January and I forgot!
Better late than never. ;) )
January 18, 2012 - Looking for the Heydenshore
Table Rental Form? It's over to the left, about halfway down.
January 15, 2012 - Please check the message board re upcoming movie.
January 10, 2012 - There was a little problem with some of
the dates in the events calendar for 2012. I've fixed them up now, please
update your calendars.
Dec 15, 2011 - Don't forget about the Frozen Finger Funfly January 1, 2012!! The event starts at 10:00 and runs till you can't feel your fingers. Don't forget, you MUST have your 2012 MAAC card to fly at this event!! The club will provide coffee and donuts for all. See you there!
Dec 13, 2011 - We're a little bit delayed getting the 2012 membership cards out. I'm just waiting for an appointment with the bank this Friday, then we can get everything rolling. So to those who have already sent in their 2012 forms and payment, hold tight... we're working on it!
Nov 29, 2011 - I received a question via the suggestion box
over to the right. Well, as the suggestion box is anonymous, I don't know who
to address the answer to. I think I'll re-post the question in the
Messageboard to leave the answer there. If you have questions, please either
use the message board (to ask publicly) or email me
howard@whitbyaeromodellers.com
and I will answer you.
Nov 26, 2011 - 2012 Membership forms are now available for
download. Click the 'Membership Form' link on the navigation menu at the left
to download the PDF file. Please note the address has changed on the form. The
2011 elections resulted in a new 'Membership Officer' being named, so the
forms go to him. Alternately, you can drop your forms off at Flying Stuff
Hobbies (link on the left side of this page) or bring it to a club meeting.
Nov 21, 2011 - Someone at last night's meeting mentioned that
they wanted to see links to other clubs in the area on the website. Well, I'm
not one to do anything halfway... so here's a page showing all the clubs in
MAAC Zone L with contact info.
is permanently linked in the navigation block on the left 'Other local clubs'.
If you have a suggestion for an unlisted club, please send me the details and
I will add it.

Some of the carnage from the 2012 Frozen Finger Fun Fly. I'll be
uploading more pics to the gallery as they become available.

you're ready to get started, please contact any of the executives

From the suggestion box:
Q:
What/where are the dteails on the F-F-F-F?
A:
They're at the top of this page in the 'News' area. The event will be
Jan 1 (as usual) and start at 10:00 AM. Brad Torrens has volunteered to plow
the road if needed. The club will provide coffee and donuts.
Q:
How do we confirm that each WAM member has an up-to-date MAC membership?
A:
We verify as many cards as we can visually. Most members carry their
cards in their wallet (everyone is supposed to!) so it's easy to check.
Some members are nice enough to send a photocopy when they send their
membership form.
In cases where no card is seen and no photocopy is given, MAAC is more
than happy to check whether a MAAC # is current or not. We can just send
them a list and they'll let us know who's up to date and who isn't.
Attention New Pilots!
Our instructors will help you learn to fly safely and you'll
have a lot more fun that going it alone. Check out the instructors page to
arrange training time. It's the best way to learn to fly and totally free. We're
here to help. Additionally, new pilots are encouraged to come out on Thursday nights from 6 - dusk during the summer months. The club has designated this time
for flight instruction and you can always be sure to find the help you need to
learn to fly safely!
I've done a LOT of work on the photo gallery. It's now a
standalone window and not just a static page on this site. It's fully database
driven, feature rich, and just cool. I have a bunch of albums created there now
in several categories. Please note that the albums are all under parent
categories. In some cases you have to drill down a couple of levels to get to
the actual pics, this is all in the name of keeping things organized.
Feel free to browse around. And of course, if you have content
to add, please send it to me.
