Usagi Tsukino es una joven de 14 años torpe y llorona con una vida normal hasta que un día sucesos extraños comienzan a pasar. Al principio del episodio Usagi tiene un sueño donde se ve a una princesa corriendo hacia los brazos de un príncipe, después de esto la mamá de Usagi, mamá Ikuko, la despierta diciendo que se le hizo tarde y Usagi sale corriendo torpemente hacia la escuela mientras su madre desearía que fuera como la valiente Guardiana en uniforme de marinero, Sailor V. En la escuela secundaria publica \"Juban\" Usagi llega tarde y su profesora de ingles, la señorita Sakurada, la pone de pie afuera, en el pasillo, y Usagi piensa en la princesa de su sueño y después se pone a comer y la descubre su profesora y le reclama por sus calificaciones.
